Location - Frans van Mierisstraat, Amsterdam ✨

This 225m² apartment in one of Amsterdam’s most prestigious areas deserved a bathroom that truly matched its character. The old grey layout felt heavy and unresolved.

By redesigning the entire space with @salvatori_official Bianco Carrara marble tiles from @disstudio , we created a calm and elegant foundation.

To add warmth, I designed custom furniture — manufactured in Latvia and installed by a Latvian carpenter — paired with a bespoke sink in Uyuni Matt Dekton by @cosentino_nederland .

We also introduced a fully enclosed shower area and added a tiled bench for both comfort and functionality.

A transformation where craftsmanship, natural materials, and thoughtful planning come together. 🤍

Designing this home fitness and yoga room was an especially fulfilling project. The goal was to maintain the same cohesive style, materials, and antique furniture found throughout the rest of the house—while introducing a moodier, darker atmosphere to support both movement and mindfulness.

But this room was never just about workouts or functionality. It also needed to be a place of stillness—a sanctuary for meditation, self-healing, and quiet retreat. The clients wanted it to reflect a sense of calm and ZEN-like energy, incorporating carefully selected antique pieces that hold personal meaning for them—and resonate just as strongly with me as a designer.

From the earthy tones of the wood to the delicate balance of vintage-inspired decor, every element tells a story. It’s about creating a space that doesn’t just look beautiful, but feels lived in — a place that embraces both the past and the present.

This latest interior is the perfect blend of warmth, history, and soul.
Making a newly built home into a timeless space where modern classic style meets Scandinavian farmhouse charm – that’s the feeling the clients were looking for. From cozy wood surfaces to natural stone accents, every detail was carefully chosen to create an atmosphere that feels like it’s always been here.

You can read & see more about it in @zurnalsdeko February 2025 issue or in my website(link in bio).

Hi! 👋🏻
Krišjānis (Kriss) is speaking! 🗣️ 😁

In case you forgot how I look like then here I am (it was finally the time to update my picture on my socials, right?) & I’m so grateful that you are following my work here! 🙏🏻

And I wanted to say that design, to me, is more than just beauty – it’s about achieving perfection in every detail. It’s about the user experience, it’s about infusing a space with soul and about finding the best solutions for my clients.

The most rewarding moment is when I see that spark in my clients eyes, knowing they’ve finally found a place they can truly call home (no matter where the home is, because @decaso.studio is based not only in Latvia but also in Amsterdam, NL).

Thanks for being here and see you soon, guys!

If you caught my previous post featuring the dining room, you might have noticed this built-in bar cabinet! Since the family loves hosting home parties and enjoying wine and cocktail nights, creating a dedicated space for it was a must.

The exterior of the cabinet is finished in veneered lighter oak, complementing the other details in the room. Inside, however, the mood shifts with darker anthracite laminate accents, soft hidden lighting, and a stunning marble countertop—crafted from leftover floor tiles from @salvatori_official .

The fluted glass doors not only add a stylish design element but also allow for a bit of mess to stay hidden during the party—because sometimes, that’s exactly what you need, right?

This post highlights the transformation of an unused, unheated and outdated room (let’s not even mention that overwhelming brown and orange color scheme it had!) into a light, welcoming space that now offers additional living area. With a thoughtful renovation, the space has been turned into a cozy gathering spot where the family can come together around the dining table and enjoy the beautiful garden views.

Not only does the room have more character now, but it is also improved with better insulation by new windows and the added comfort of heated floors.

Clients wanted this kitchen island to unify and highlight the details, materiality and overall tones that runs throughout the rest of the house interior, but with a little twist - they didn’t want to use stone for the surface. So we used tiles instead.
